- Completed 3 year articles
- Minimum of 15 years experience
Job Requirements
- Accounts Payable review function including Daily and monthly cash management.
- Above average skills and knowledge of Income Tax.
- Accountable for preparation and filing of provisional tax returns and annual tax returns.
- Ad hoc financial reviews / forecasts.
- Accountable for the completion of the year end audit, accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
- Accountable for the budget and forecast process.
- Accountable for all aspects of statutory compliance at the company - VAT, PAYE etc.
- Ensure effective cost and internal control systems are in place.
- Engage in commercial negotiations, accountable for treasury and forex management.
- Ensuring accurate preparation and / or review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensuring that Journals are prepared, reviewed & processed.
- Ensuring continuous improvement of processes within all areas affecting the finance department.
- In consultation with HR and the respective heads of department, shall provide mentoring and skills transfer to development or seasoned candidates placed in finance or related project roles such as Project Controls Manager.
- Manage accounting staff, monthly accounting function and the full insurance function.
- Monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting on the performance of 2 business units.
- Monthly variance analysis review and reporting.
- Provide financial support to the project and the scope includes liaison with appropriate stakeholders, continuous feasibility studies and financial testing model regarding the required capital outlay, synergy projects, etc.
- Provide key support and recommendations regarding the financial modelling testing including the impairment exercise at half year and final year stages.
- Provide financial or on-going feasibility study support and recommendations with respect to business development initiatives.
- Provide support to the core project team as follows : develop and implement systems for cost management and cost tracking, liaise and provide key interface between Project Controls and Finance functions and participate in committees and teams set out for project development.
- Responsible for compiling the budget for 2 business units.
Skills Required
- Leadership and good technical skills in accounting, finance and management accounting
- Must be able to run complex financial models
- Experienced in JSE listed requirements
- Experienced in preparing budgets and financial reports
- Experienced in SAP and other ERP software
- Experienced in mining industry
- Good team player and team leader experience
- Strong experience in a multinational environment
