Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, larger than life and experienced General Manager to lead and oversee all business operations within 1-grid.
This unique opportunity invites a General Manager to shape the future of the organisation by driving operational excellence, sustained profitability, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial insight with an entrepreneurial mindset and exceptional leadership skills.
This role requires a balance of strategic vision, business acumen, and hands‑on operational management, reporting directly to the Company Head.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Commerce, or a related field (essential).
- Minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience.
- Proven track record in managing multi‑departmental operations and achieving organizational targets.
- Strong understanding of hosting infrastructure, service delivery models, and client lifecycle management.
- Excellent financial, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Own the end-to-end performance of the hosting business, operating with a business‑owner mindset
- Define and execute growth strategies to expand revenue, market share, and profitability
- Identify and launch new hosting, cloud, and managed service offerings
- Drive partnerships, alliances, and new go‑to‑market opportunities
- Develop and implement business strategies that drive growth, efficiency, and market competitiveness.
- Collaborate with the Company Head to define long‑term objectives and business transformation initiatives as well as to align priorities, resources, and execution rhythms.
- Ensure every department operates in alignment with 1-grid’s vision, values, and customer commitments
- Oversee and integrate major cross‑functional programmes, including customer retention, system stability, and product portfolio improvement.
- Leads cross‑functional performance reviews and initiatives across departments to ensure strategic alignment, shared accountability, and timely execution of key objectives
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily business operations and ensure effective collaboration across departments.
- Monitor performance metrics (KPIs) to track efficiency, profitability, and service delivery.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational performance and customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
- Oversees system ownership alignment, data integrity, and operational reporting to ensure decisions are informed by accurate insights.
- Oversees strategic projects and change initiatives that improve scalability, automation, and customer experience
Financial Management
- Work closely with the Finance department to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control initiatives.
- Analyse financial performance and identify opportunities for revenue growth and expense optimization.
- Enable the Finance team to provide accurate and timely reporting to the Company Head on financial and operational performance.
- Contribute to pricing, margin management, and product viability discussions
People & Culture
- Lead and mentor departmental heads, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
- Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and high performance, grounded in 1-grid’s values and customer‑centric ethos.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure effective talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies.
- Champion structured development and performance frameworks to build leadership depth and workforce engagement.
- Build and maintain a high‑performance culture that supports business objectives and employee engagement.
Business Development, Customers Growth
- Drive customer‑focused initiatives to enhance retention, advocacy, and overall service quality. Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to align growth strategies with customer insights and operational readiness.
- Leverage data and market intelligence to identify new opportunities and ensure product‑market fit.
- Represent the company, strengthening its reputation for reliability, innovation, and customer care.
