General Manager Luxury Lodge Grahamstown Eastern Cape
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced General Manager to join a prestigious Luxury Lodge based in Grahamstown Eastern Cape. This is a live‑in position offering a competitive salary of R30000 per month (negotiable depending on experience).
The ideal candidate will be well‑presented and professional with a strong background in lodge or hotel management, exceptional leadership abilities and a passion for delivering world‑class guest experiences.
Requirements
- Matric
- Degree National Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management (essential)
- Minimum of 5 years experience working at a 5‑star lodge or hotel
- Proven management experience within a similar environment
- Clear understanding of lodge operations
- Computer literate and proficient in MS Office packages
- Proficient in OPERA property management system
- Professional well‑groomed and excellent communication skills
- Strong administrative and operational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities
- Financial acumen with an understanding of budgeting and cost control
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Sound knowledge of Guest Relations, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Front Office operations
- Experience using platforms such as Guest Revu and TripAdvisor
- Ability to implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction, reputation and profitability
- Exceptional Food & Beverage knowledge
- Passion for training and developing staff
- Understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures
- Valid drivers licence (no endorsements) and own reliable transport (essential)
- Willingness to live on‑site
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all lodge departments to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations
- Maintain high standards of service, guest satisfaction and property upkeep
- Manage and motivate staff to achieve service excellence
- Ensure financial targets are met and budgets are managed effectively
- Maintain strong guest relationships and handle feedback proactively
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall lodge performance
