Duties & Responsibilities
SALES CONSULTANT Responsible with the sales team to ensure store profitability through meeting individual and team targets. This role includes everything from engaging a customer on the floor, presenting suitable options as per customer needs, closing the sale and after sale care which include attending to refunds, returns, exchanges or repairs.
The sales consultant also responsible for updating the manager of stock shortages, merchandising needs for the floor and advice on store layout to ensure good customer experience on the floor.
Qualifications: Matric & at least 2 years working in retail sales and furniture sales experience an advantage. Report directly into the Store Manager. Computer literacy: Microsoft Office – especially excel, Possibolt, Drobox. Experience working with CRM / Databases. Critical skills needed to fulfil role? Excellent interpersonal skills? - Check zones daily and update Store Manager if you require additional stock.
- Print pricing for new stock as per template.
- Any defected stock will be reported to the store manager.
- When selling goods to customers always check Possibolt for the number of stock across the business.
If stock is less than 5 units on system call head office to confirm stock availability before a sale can be concluded.
- If another store phones for stock, it needs to be transferred immediately and will be coordinated through warehouse as a IBT (Inter branch Transfer).
- Visual merchandising standards are being met.
- Ensures replenishment of stock is being done timeously.
- Always aware of markdowns, promotions and new stock.
- Ensures stock is being ordered as per top sellers.
- Store sales targets and individual sales targets to be achieved.
- Actively keeping track of sales performance against target.
- Exceed Customer expectations by identifying and providing them with the best possible solutions.
- Excellent product knowledge and the capability selling a diverse product range and keeping up to date with the latest trends.
- Promotes add on Sales.
- Ensure customers are informed of new stock, promotions.
- Searching out opportunities for making new sales.
- Alternatively, the customer can collect stock from head office, however to be informed that they will have to assemble goods themselves and that the business not held accountable if they cannot do so.
- Should a customer purchase over a certain amount they are entitled to a discount that has to be approved by head office.
- Process sale, print invoice – give copy to customer and keep one.
- Write in sales book the sale and descriptor.
- Update sales book with sale descriptor and ensure manager escalates all your customers on the end of day delivery schedule.
- Follow up with deliveries to ensure your customers goods delivered as agreed upon sale.
- Attend to any of your customer modification requests – this is change in stock, colour, price, refunds.
- Brand ambassador should always be polite and greet all customers.
- Takes pride in dress code and personal appearance.
- Ensure an interactive, knowledgeable and warm Customer experience to make the sale.
- Ensure that all customers are receiving service of the highest quality and standards.
- Able to understand and advise customers on products being sold.
- Manage laybys' effectively and ensure stock available for customers on completion of final payment.
- Remain calm and professional in conflict situations and find a resolution.
- Respond to customer requests and complaints with speed and accuracy.
- Escalate customer queries to the customer service department.
- Deal effectively with all refund and exchange matters and follow up with head office to follow protocol and attend to customer.
- Refund procedure adhered to.
- Follow up with head office to ensure customer queries and complaints effectively being managed. Store Operations.
- Follow correct protocols and policies for stores.
- Ensure look and feel of store upheld, neat and tidy – excellent customer experience.
- Be punctual, respectful and honest.
- Ensure store kept neat and housekeeping needs met.
