Job description
Introduction

A fast-growing and internationally recognised financial services firm specialising in private equity and venture capital fund administration is seeking a Fund Accountant to join their expanding team. In this role, you'll support the end-to-end administration of investment funds, build strong technical foundations in fund accounting, and contribute to delivering high-quality service to an international client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and follow internal policies, systems, and office procedures while building strong working relationships with the team.
  • Work closely with colleagues and interns, asking questions, taking notes, and contributing to a supportive team environment.
  • Develop a basic understanding of private equity and venture capital fund operations, including how LPAs guide fund administration.
  • Assist with preparing capital call and distribution notices and help maintain accurate supporting documentation.
  • Calculate simple partner allocations, track fund cash movements, and help reconcile capital call and distribution activity.
  • Support day‑to‑day banking processes by setting up wires and helping process payment instructions.
  • Record basic general ledger (GL) entries, help prepare financial statements, and assist with reconciliations.
  • Contribute to management fee calculations, performance metrics, and other routine financial tasks with guidance from senior staff.
  • Use internal systems and Excel to organise data, keep records up to date, and support client onboarding or system migrations.
  • Assist with audit and tax processes by preparing confirmations, gathering documentation, and helping review key forms.
Experience & Qualification

BCom Accounting or Finance / Bachelor of Accounting / Honours in Accounting

Proficiency with Excel and comfort learning cloud‑based reporting or accounting systems.

Strong interest in the private equity or venture capital industry, with a proactive and analytical mindset.
