Job summary

Sidekwest is seeking a Full Stack Developer in Cape Town to join a small, focused team that builds scalable web applications for diverse clients. You will design, implement, and deliver features across the full stack using JavaScript, Node.js, and React.

You will collaborate with startups and established businesses to automate and digitize processes, maintain high code quality, and continuously learn in a mentoring-first, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven Full Stack Developer with front-end and back-end skills (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Node.js, React).
• Experience in consulting or client-facing project delivery.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications with focus on performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define features and ensure code quality.

Tasks

• Design, develop, and implement scalable full-stack web applications, ensuring responsiveness and performance across all platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features, while maintaining code quality and best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer, with proficiency in both front-end and back-end languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Node.js, and React.
• Previous experience in consulting or client-facing project delivery, with the ability to communicate clearly and manage expectations
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative and innovative mindset, capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on collaboration and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
