Job summary

Paracon is seeking a suitably qualified contract .Net Developer to support the ICS Department on a strategic institutional project in Cape Town. You will join a team of developers, analysts and business resources to build high-performance enterprise systems.

Responsibilities include planning, requirements gathering, development (full stack), unit testing, troubleshooting, and deployment coordination, with close collaboration to analysts and project managers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Full Stack .NET Developer.
• Experience developing enterprise web applications within Microsoft technologies.
• National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, requirements gathering, deployment and rollout of enterprise-wide systems.
• Collaborate with system analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Conduction system analysis and compile and / or assist in the compilation of solutions design specifications.
• Perform software development (Full Stack: backend and frontend) according to specifications.
• Perform software unit and system testing of the enterprise system.
• Perform troubleshooting of the enterprise systems.
• Identify bugs and prepare fixes and enhancements to code.
• Test technical changes and coordinate the release of the change requests.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of system changes to application.
• Assist in the planning and management of Preventative Maintenance of the enterprise systems.
• Perform system administration in regard to user access, user requirements and assess scope require for changes and enhancements to the system.

The client seeks a suitably qualified, experienced, and competent contract resource (.Net Developer) to support the Information Communication Services (ICS) Department in delivering this strategically important institutional project.

• The resource must be based (live) in Cape Town.
• The resource will report to the ICS Project Management Office for the duration of the project.
• The resource must be fully dedicated to the client's engagement and may not be assigned to any other client projects for the duration of the contract.

Essential Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Full Stack .NET Development using ASP.NET Framework/.NET technologies.
• Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Web Forms/MVC, and enterprise web application development.
• Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, stored procedures, and relational database management.
• Experience using Visual Studio and Azure DevOps/Team Foundation Server (TFS) for source control and application lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud services and cloud-hosted applications.
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), unit testing, debugging, code reviews, and release management.
• Ability to collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and stakeholders to design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise solutions.
