Job summary

JVR Software in South Africa is seeking a Senior Software Developer – Ops Portals to design, build, and maintain internal web apps used daily by sales, operations, installation, and finance teams. This role spans frontend development, API integration, and cloud deployment within a hybrid Rosebank setting.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure platforms, mentor junior developers, and contribute to engineering best practices while leveraging Google Cloud technologies

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a professional Software Developer with strong full-stack development experience.
• Proficiency in React and modern frontend development practices.
• Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience with Google Cloud technologies including Firebase Hosting, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Run, and Secret Manager.
• Experience using Git/GitHub and automated testing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of software testing, code reviews, and structured deployment practices.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience within telecommunications, ISP, utilities, mapping solutions, or internal operational platforms will be advantageous.
• Cloud certifications such as Google Associate Cloud Engineer would be advantageous.

Responsibilities
