CtrlFleet is a startup in the road‑freight logistics industry offering real‑time Control‑Room management applications to transportation companies in SA. We integrate live telematics feeds with operational routing and planning to provide actual real‑time operations support, including but not limited to: Route Compliance analytics, ETA (estimated time of arrival) analytics and management, Order administration, Customer and Supplier visibility, Mobility solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Agile KANBAN Methodology: Participate in daily stand‑ups, continuous prioritisation, and retrospectives to ensure development tickets are completed on schedule and meet performance standards.
• Back‑End Cloud Development: Build and maintain robust Cloud‑Native and server‑side services that encode nuanced business logic.
• Code Quality & Reviews: Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards and best practices are adhered to.
• Provide feedback, mentorship and guidance to less experienced developers.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams (Product Owner, Commercial Leads, product support managers) to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• DevOps: Set up and manage cloud infrastructure ensuring continuous integration (CI) and deployment pipelines are effective.
• Front‑End Development: Develop responsive and performant front‑end interfaces that are cross‑browser and mobile‑compatible.
• Innovation: Stay up‑to‑date with emerging web technologies, continuously improving development processes, and suggesting new ideas for features and services.
• Security & Performance: Ensure all websites and web applications are secure, scalable, optimised for performance and adhere to best practices.
• Third‑Party Integrations: Develop and maintain integrations with third‑party services and platforms, such as payment gateways, Telematics APIs, ERP solutions and integration platforms.
• Troubleshooting & Debugging: Identify and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks, proactively ensuring smooth functionality.

What We're Looking For

Attributes: Detail‑oriented, proactive, and motivated self‑starter with excellent communication skills.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience as a Full Stack Web Developer with demonstrable experience in front‑end and back‑end technologies.
• Flexibility: Willing and able to offer after‑hours support as part of an on‑call team.
• Languages: Proficiency in English.
• Logistics Knowledge: Familiarity with logistics and transport operations is a plus.
• Bonus: Interest and/or a passion for the logistics and transportation industry.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
• Interest in solving practical real‑world problems with end‑user experience and requirements as a priority.
• Enjoys creative problem solving.

Technical Knowledge & Experience: Java, Springboot, GCP (Google Cloud Platform), Kubernetes, Flutter, Firestore, Angular, Node, JavaScript, MySQL.

Reporting To: Co‑Founder, Product & Technology.

Working Environment: Hybrid. Must have reliable transport to and from work, and remote working requires a dedicated, quiet space with stable internet connection.
