Job description

Role Purpose

The Site Partner is a key driver of performance, profitability, and operational excellence at the site. This role oversees the management, administration, operational, financial, compliance, and risk functions to ensure optimal performance, high-quality service delivery, and sustainable profit growth. The Site Partner provides strategic leadership and coordination across all site operations while fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Management
  • Develop and execute the site plan and budget, driving sales, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for operational and financial growth while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor and analyse operational efficiency, implementing strategies to enhance productivity and performance.
  • Anticipate market trends and position the site for long-term success.
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee all site operations including fuel, retail, storage, stock, and logistics.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely product deliveries and optimal stock levels.
  • Ensure efficient cash, stock, HR, and resource management.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations and stock controls.
  • Drive exceptional customer service and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and safety protocols, and legal requirements.
  • Manage facility maintenance, equipment functionality, and site cleanliness.
  • Oversee marketing and promotional activities to increase sales and customer engagement.
Financial Management
  • Manage and monitor site budgets to control expenses and maximise revenue.
  • Analyse financial data and reports to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial performance in alignment with PEG Head Office standards.
  • Authorise payments, monitor bank accounts, and ensure cash-up accuracy after every shift.
  • Maintain strict oversight of margins, profitability, and energy consumption.
Reporting
  • Submit accurate operational and financial reports to PEG Head Office.
  • Analyse key metrics such as fuel sales, retail performance, customer traffic, and profitability.
  • Provide insight into market trends, competitor activity, and performance improvement areas.
  • Ensure compliance and incident reports are documented and corrective measures implemented.
People Management & Development
  • Lead and develop a high-performing site team through training, mentoring, and continuous development.
  • Manage recruitment, staffing levels, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
  • Enforce HR policies, manage disciplinary procedures, and ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Promote a collaborative, performance-driven, and customer-focused culture.
  • Drive staff motivation, leadership, and accountability through consistent engagement and support.
Role Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field (NQF 7 minimum, NQF 8 preferred).
Experience
  • 8–10 years of managerial experience in retail or fuel operations (QSR or forecourt environment advantageous).
  • Proven success in managing multi-functional retail operations with financial and compliance oversight.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and regulatory compliance within the fuel and retail sectors.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience using in-house operational systems and site management tools.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical ability.
