Job summary

Network Contracting invites applications for a Fraud Investigator on a six-month contract within a leading financial services organisation. You will investigate criminal, ethical, tip-off and fraudulent incidents by examining records, conducting interviews and building strong case files to maximise recoveries.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and, where required, law enforcement agencies, managing multiple investigations while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree is required.
  • 4–5 years' experience in Fraud Prevention and Mitigation.
  • Practical experience conducting fraud and related investigations.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders and, where required, law enforcement agencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, maintain investigation records and work within applicable standards and laws.
  • Strong investigation, analytical and information-gathering skills.
  • Proficiency in using fraud and case-management tools is required, including the relevant systems used for case loading and fraud management.
  • Strong report writing, documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Willingness to undergo a credit record check in accordance with the requirements of the role.
  • Ability to work shifts, as the role requires shift work.
  • Ability to meet investigation deadlines, subpoenas and required dates.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate criminal, ethical, tip-off and fraudulent incidents by examining records and documentation and conducting interviews with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prioritise and manage investigations according to the likelihood of achieving meaningful outcomes, including complex fraud cases.
  • Ensure optimal utilisation of fraud tools and maintain timeous case-management loading, including daily case loading and scanning of orders.
  • Maintain accurate registers for cases, exhibits, orders and other investigation-related records.
  • Execute investigation activities in line with applicable standards and laws to maximise recoveries for the Bank.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and ensure subpoenas and dates are met.
  • Build objective working relationships with a range of stakeholders across business and support functions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions, while sharing fraud-related insights through internal forums.
