Job summary

An emergency medical services provider in Durban is seeking a Basic Ambulance Assistant to respond to emergency calls and provide essential medical care. Qualifications

  • Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate is a must.
  • Completion of related clinical training is advantageous.
  • 6 months to 2 years of road BLS experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend to emergency calls and provide basic medical care.
  • Ensure operational readiness for emergency calls.
  • Administer patient care as per scope of practice.
  • Market and maintain a positive company image.

Skills

Knowledge of facilities, travel routes and demographical area
Understanding of HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice
Application of best practice in EMS environment
Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
Experience in completing Patient Report Forms

Education
