Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks an experienced freight estimation professional to drive road freight and project cargo estimates across a corridor. You will compile load plans and conduct on-site visits with customers, vendors, and manufacturers to assess weights and feasibility.

The role requires 7–10 years in road freight estimates or operations, freight forwarding experience, and a strong ability to analyse and optimise load plans, including abnormal cargo movements, to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Matric required.
• 7–10 years in road freight estimates or operations.
• Experience in freight forwarding for estimates is required.
• Strong ability to analyse and compute optimal load plans.
• Understand abnormal cargo movement requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all-round estimations of project and normal cargo for the whole Corridor.
• Compile load plans and conduct onsite visits to assess weights and plan feasibility with customers, vendors and manufacturers.
• Ensure road freight estimates and load plans are completed and submitted within required timeframes.
• Work across multimodal disciplines including sea, air, road, projects, breakbulk, bulk, and out-of-gauge.

Job description

Responsible for the all-round estimations of project and normal cargo for the whole Corridor. Position will include andwill not be limited to compiling load plans, conducting onsite customer, vendor and manufactures visits to assess cargoweights and load plans accordingly. Ensure that all Road Freight estimates and Load plans for road freight requests arecompleted and submitted within the required time frame. This will include multi modal disciplines including sea / air / road/ projects / breakbulk / bulk / out of gauge.

• 7 -10 years Road Freight estimates or operations experience
• Freight forwarding experience in estimates a requisite
• Must have a strong ability to analyse and compute the optimum load plans on trailers with regards to project cargo
• Must understand the requirements and limitations with regards to movement of abnormal Cargo
