Job description

Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, is a world‑class producer of chrome ore.

Minimum Educational Requirements

• Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate.

Experience

• 6 months production exposure in a plant/mining environment.

Duties

• Ensure effective and efficient operation of the foundry circuit and monitor foundry production parameters.
• Receive hand‑over, render general assistance and support with regard to production process, waste removal and conducting inspections to ensure safe operations and to prevent blockages, stoppages, defects, malfunctions and/or breakages. Conduct basic equipment maintenance by identifying problems, removing and replacing components/panels within scope of work or escalating problems to supervisor. Assist with conducting Mini‑Risk Assessments by identifying hazards and indicating how to prevent them. Communicate effectively with and assist line supervisors/foremen and related plant/mining personnel with ad‑hoc activities, e.g. change idlers, assist to fit V‑belts on pump.
• Cleaning equipment safely and perform housekeeping duties on the plant, to ensure correct storage.
• Perform lock‑out procedure whenever required during the shift.
