Job description

Location: Killarney Gardens, Cape Town
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (occasional Saturdays)
Salary: R16,000 – R20,000 (depending on experience) + benefits
Start Date: 1 August

Our client in Killarney Gardens is looking for an experienced Forklift Technician to join their team. This role is suited for someone with strong mechanical skills, hands-on experience working on various vehicles, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain, and repair forklifts and other lifting equipment
• Work on hydraulics, auto-electrical systems, and mechanical components
• Diagnose faults and perform corrective action
• Travel to client sites after the initial training period
• Keep accurate maintenance and job records

Requirements:

• Valid Code 14 Driver’s Licence with PDP
• Minimum 5 years’ mechanical experience, including hydraulics and car electricals
• Comfortable working with a variety of car makes and models (not limited to one brand)
• Matric preferred, but not required if highly experienced
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn
• Must be able to work independently after training

The successful candidate will receive roughly one month of training before working in the field.
