Job summary

Plaza Board Centre in Pietermaritzburg is seeking a Forklift Driver to ensure safe offloading/loading of stock and efficient warehouse operations. You will follow SOPs, move boards between bulk and operating areas, and assist production as needed.

The role requires a valid 4.5Ton forklift license, Grade 12 or equivalent, and solid literacy in English. Duties include stock counts, dispatch paperwork, and maintaining a clean, safe warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Product knowledge on boards required.
• Numeracy and literacy are key skills for this position.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Write, read and speak in English.
• Understand the impact of stock loss or damage on the business.

Responsibilities

• Offload bulk stock from supplier vehicles as per SOP.
• Mark and spray pallets before stock is brought into the warehouse.
• Load full boards and orders onto customer vehicles.
• Report damages to boards to Warehouse Controller.
• Conduct daily forklift maintenance checks (oil, water, tyres, hours, lever controls).
• Assist in warehouse and production as directed by Warehouse Controller and Branch Manager.
• Move stock between bulk and operating warehouses per instructions.
• Perform stock counts and complete picking slips and dispatch paperwork.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of warehouse areas.
