Job summary

Finovate People (Pty) Ltd in Tulbagh is seeking a Food Technologist to join the FMCG team. The role focuses on developing new food products and enhancing existing ones from concept to commercialization.

You will collaborate with Marketing, QA, and Production to ensure specifications are met, while applying food chemistry knowledge to improve processes, quality, and shelf-life. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
• National Senior Certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Food Technologist in the food industry.
• NPD (New Product Development) experience is an advantage.

Food Technologist

Our client in the FMCG sector, situated in Tulbagh, is looking for a Food Technologist to join their team as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and development activities to create new food products or enhance existing ones, from concept to commercialization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Production to ensure product specifications are met and projects are completed on time.
• Utilize scientific principles and techniques to formulate recipes, optimize processes, and improve product quality and shelf-life.
• Perform sensory evaluations and analyze data to assess product attributes and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market demands, and regulatory requirements to inform product development strategies.
• Participate in pilot plant trials and production scale-ups, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• National Senior Certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Food Technologist in the food industry.
