Job summary

A leading food technology company is looking for a Food Technologist for a 3-month contract based in Randfontein, Gauteng. The role involves maintaining GMP and food safety management systems, controlling food safety records, and monitoring suppliers. Candidates must have a National Diploma in Food Technology, experience in HACCP and various manufacturing processes, and strong communication skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to ensure food safety compliance across production facilities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in good manufacturing practices, HACCP and FSSC / ISO.
  • Medium level decision-making skills regarding Food Safety compliance.
  • Medium level problem-solving responsibilities related to Food Safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain GMP and Food safety management systems in compliance with regulations.
  • Control Food safety records and participate in production audits.
  • Monitor Supplier's Quality assurance and conduct monthly GMP audits.

Food Technologist VacancyPosition : 3-month contractSeniority Level : Mid-Career (3 - 6 yrs exp)Region : GautengLocation : Randfontein- Western SuburbsSectors : FMCGDuties and ResponsibilitiesPurpose of the RoleMaintenance of GMP and Food safety management systems in production plants in accordance with System and retailer requirements.Key Responsibilities and DutiesControl of Food safety records submitted by factories- Verification, signing & filing, including ordering of record forms / books.Participate actively in production and manage the Implementation of Procedures (PRP's) on the floor.Updating of records and Procedures as required and submit change request to the Snr QAT.Accompany regulatory inspectors & Participate in external audits as requiredpile monthly Food Safety meeting minutes.Assist in food safety and quality related nonconformance / customer complaints investigations and feedback to the Senior QAT.Monitoring the Supplier's Quality assurance.Conduct monthly GMP internal audits as per schedule.Conduct traceability studies.Ensure that the practices of the plants are in line with the Documented FSMS requirements.Ensure that all water supplies, products, drains, air, equipments & hands are adequately tested as scheduled.Ensure non-conforming material are recorded, documented, disposed off in an appropriate manner and analysed to identify and prevent recurring problems.Ensure that on-line cleaning and sanitation is effective and correct steps are followed when cleaning is undertaken in the plants.Knowledge / Experience and EducationNational Diploma in Food Technology or equivalent qualificationInternal Auditing CertificateExperience in various processes with specific reference to good manufacturing practices, HACCP and FSSC / ISO
