Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Food Service Worker to work on weekends from 10:00am to 6:00pm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for serving food, cleaning kitchen surfaces, and must have completed Grade 10. Previous food service experience is preferred. This position is regular part-time with essential interpersonal skills required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent required.
• Previous food service experience in a restaurant or cafeteria setting is desirable.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Portions, packages and serves food according to diet protocols and standards.
• Cleans kitchen and surfaces throughout the kitchen.
• Washes and puts away dishes.

Job description

This position works primarily Saturday and Sunday, weekends only from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Description

The Food Service Worker portions, packages and/or serves food items according to menu, diet protocol, portion control and temperature standards within an acute care or continuing care setting.

This position is also responsible for washing and putting away dishes and cleaning kitchen and surfaces throughout the kitchen.

This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Previous food service experience in a restaurant/cafeteria setting or customer service experience may be considered desirable in combination with other qualifications.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Basic computer skills.

• Previous food service experience in a care facility or institutional food service setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and training in customer relations.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately to deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• High levels of honesty and integrity.
