Job summary

A government health department in Pretoria seeks a Supervisor to oversee food service operations. The ideal candidate will supervise the provisioning of normal and therapeutic diets and maintain hygiene standards. Applicants should have Grade 12 and 5 years of experience in food service catering within a hospital setting. This is a full-time position with a salary of R 193 359.00 per annum plus benefits.

Requirements
  • Grade 12. Hospitality Management or appropriate qualification. National Diploma in Operations will be an added advantage. Five(5) years experience in food service mass catering hospital environment or HET. Appropriate knowledge in Hospital food Service operations. Basic knowledge in normal and therapeutic diets. Basic knowledge in food service policies and procedures. Knowledge of hygiene and safety principle in food service. Knowledge of food service equipment and operations. Excellent in verbal, written and numerical skills. Good personal relationship. Ability to work under pressure and handle conflicts.
Duties
  • Supervise tasks execution with regards to provisioning of normal and Therapeutic diets and take part in Daily production meetings. Responsible for key and stock control within the Unit. Supervise meal ordering and distribution to the wards while ensuring proficient use of equipment and utensils. Supervise compliance to hygiene and safety standards by food service staff. Monitor quality and quantity control measures during production and portioning of meals. Monitor Attendance, complete work schedule, leave forms and claim forms according to prescribed procedure.
