A catering service provider in Johannesburg is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support their catering department. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months of experience in the catering sector, a Grade 12 qualification, and possess strong communication and teamwork skills. This role requires maintaining high hygiene standards and assisting in meal preparation. The position offers both internal and external contracts.

We are calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of a Food Service Assistant at our Fourways Kitchen.
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Catering Department.

Grade 12
Relevant qualification in the Hospitality / Catering sector or studying towards a hospitality qualification
Minimum of 12 months in the catering sector
Driver's License (Advantageous)
Own Vehicle (Advantageous)
Enjoy practical and methodical work
Honest and reliable
Good hand-eye coordination
Ability to work quickly and safely
Good personal hygiene
Free from skin allergies to foods and detergents
Good communication skills
Team player
Physical ability to bend, stand, and lift
Willingness to travel
Ability to communicate potential problems
Enthusiasm and passion for the food service industry
Flexibility to adapt as job requirements change
Ensure a high level of customer service within the area of responsibility
Complete all required checklists
Perform related work as assigned
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of catering equipment and premises at the end of each shift
Report any client complaints or comments to the Team Leader
Carry out reasonable requests from management
Research and stay updated on catering trends to promote competitive services
Assist in meal preparation and cooking
Ensure compliance with cleanliness and hygiene regulations
