Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd—Gauteng-based Operations Manager (M16) role, overseeing planning, leadership and control of waste management operations. Ensure safety, cost-efficiency, and compliance with national acts; extensive stakeholder coordination and contract oversight are required.

Responsibilities include budget oversight, contract management (NEC), and ongoing performance reporting, with a focus on ISO standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• B Degree/ BTech in Transportation/ Logistics/ Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum 5 years related experience within Logistics Field.

Responsibilities

• Employee management: recruitment, training and management of employees within the Waste Management Department.
• Contract management: understand contractual obligations and conditions to be executed and managed (e.g., NEC contract knowledge).
• Contract negotiation: negotiate supplier contracts for favourable outcomes.
• Budgeting: maintain sound budgeting to ensure cost optimisation.
• Cost management: ensure operations are within contractual and budgeting frameworks.
• Compliance: ensure compliance with NEMWA, NRTA, OHSA and related regulations.
• Business management: plan, organise, lead and control all waste management operations.
• Stakeholder and relationship management: foster sound internal and external relationships.
• Document control: maintain permits/certifications and relevant records.
• Procedural development: develop and review processes and work instructions.
• Report writing: compile monthly reports and close-out actions.
