SUMMARY : POSITION INFO :

Role & Function :

We are looking for a Fleet Manager to join our team in Kraaifontein, Cape Town. As a Fleet Manager, you will effectively manage and oversee the day-to-day (and night shift) operations of the depot/plant. This includes short-term planning and scheduling of daily operations, managing driver and vehicle productivity, vehicle maintenance, resolving queries, and delivering exceptional service within clients’ SLA. The role requires diligence, time management, and a customer-focused approach. Integrity, reliability, and flexibility are essential.

Key Performance Areas :

Operations :

  • Oversee and manage a fleet of vehicles, including scheduling maintenance, conducting weekly checks, arranging services, managing diesel consumption, handling breakdowns, ensuring vehicle cleanliness, and licensing compliance.
  • Collaborate with drivers to identify and implement operational efficiencies.
  • Manage trips by loading trips onto in-house applications, scheduling drivers' hours, planning routes, supervising loading at client sites, and managing related paperwork.
  • Handle driver performance management, including monitoring fuel consumption per kilometer, daily debriefs, paperwork, and weekly reports.
  • Manage driver licenses and professional driving permits (PrDP).
  • Monitor drivers’ leave and overtime records.
  • People Management: Motivate the team to improve efficiency and competency.

Administration :

  • Handle claims, traffic fines, and oversee vehicle maintenance.
  • Manage and monitor driver working hours to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Complete daily debrief paperwork for ad hoc projects.

Client Service :

  • Deliver high-quality customer service within SLA parameters.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders such as the team, IT, and clients.
  • Act as the primary contact with clients, proactively resolving challenges and queries to reduce complaints.
