Fleet Controller position available in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

• Will be required to work on weekends as per roster (alternating)
• Available to commence immediately or as soon as possible
• Minimum of Matric
• Preferably newly acquired diploma in logistics
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / PowerPoint), in particular Excel

Key Performance Areas:

• Prepare Drivers paperwork with stops, load release etc.
• Oversee and manage all Drivers and Assistants
• General fleet management
• Briefing of Drivers
• Scanning in Drivers paperwork to the de briefing hub
• Tracker and trip sheet analysis
• Maintain Driver discipline
• Maintain truck turnaround time
• Capture all Drivers log sheets with overtime and night-outs
• Keep record of all inhouse training and arrange for days for in-house training
• Issuing of warnings
• Prepare cases for hearings
• Assist with filling up trucks to get urgent orders out
• Assist with getting rid of preloads and checking in with customers if they are satisfied or if they need product
• Process Drivers leave and manage fleet to ensure there are enough Drivers to trucks
• Assist with planning and scheduling
• Manage Drivers’ hours worked
• Liaise with gantries on renewing safe loads and Driver inductions
• Accident investigations
• Communicate with customers late deliveries
• Daily speeding and tracking reports
• Ensure that Drivers and customers calls are answered in a timeous manner-after hours included
• Assist with HSSE
• Spot checks (HSE)
• Near miss (HSE)
• PPE Issue
• Update files (hard and soft copy)
• PPE
• Load trucks (safeloads, Hazchem’s, DGP and medicals)
• Maintain Driver files
• Maintain medicals Hazchem’s and DGP
• Capture all incidents and accidents on (QM) Quality Manager
• Ensure toolbox talks are done on a weekly basis
• Issuing of Toolbox talks and that it gets signed
• KPA on a monthly basis
• Harbour permits(yearly) assist
• Fire permits (yearly) assist
• Liaise with the Mechanics on trucks that need to be serviced and breakdowns and planning to get defects sorted out
• Alternating standby
• Retrieve footage
• Communication with Tracker and Truck assist
• Vehicle spot checks
• Monitor tracker and provide feedback to clients and reps and shift change over
• Driver handover for late evening trips
• Booking and maintaining Training Matrix
• Ensure that a proper hand over is done with each shift

Salary: R15 000 to R16 000 per month commensurate with qualification and experience including pension fund contribution.
