Job summary

A leading South African university is seeking a Fixed Asset Controller in the Finance Department. The ideal candidate will have a National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in accounting and at least three years of related experience. Responsibilities include updating the asset register, assisting with audits, and supervising staff. This is a permanent position across all campuses with a focus on enhancing service delivery and controls.

  • Applied knowledge of the Integrated Tertiary System (ITS).

Job Purpose

To review the institutional asset register by:

  • Creating awareness about the institutional asset register to improve service delivery and improving controls
  • Ensuring institutional asset register is updated and reflect accurate records
  • Assisting with annual year end audit
  • Supervise day to day operations in the office
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • A National Diploma in Accounting or a Bachelor's degree (3-year qualification)in Accounting (Financial Information Systems, Cost and Management Accounting or Auditing)
  • At least three (3) years' relevant experience in a similar position
  • Ms Office (Excel in particular)

Please note: Preference will be given to Internal candidates who meet the minimum requirements.
