Job summary

A manufacturing company in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking a qualified Fitter with turning experience to join their projects team. Candidates should have a Grade 12 certificate and preferably a Red Seal Trade Test, with at least 3 years post-trade experience in a production environment. Overtime and call-out readiness are required.

Introduction

Our manufacturing client is seeking a qualified Fitter (with Turning experience) to join their projects team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for carrying out mechanical fitting, turning, maintenance, and repair work to support daily production and project requirements.

This includes ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company quality and Health & Safety standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform fitting and turning duties on various plant and project equipment.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations as required.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
• Assist with breakdowns and support project-related work as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.
• Red Seal Trade Test Fitter or Fitter & Turner (ideally).
• Minimum 3 years post-trade experience.
• Turning experience will be advantageous.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Willing and able to work overtime and attend call-outs when required.
• Must reside within the Northern Suburbs area.
• Must be willing to attend a face‑to‑face interview and complete a short practical assessment if shortlisted.
