Job summary

A leading feed production company in Pietermaritzburg is seeking a qualified Fitter to manage maintenance tasks within the manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in an Animal Feed Manufacturing Plant, hold an N4 Mechanical certificate, and be safety conscious. Commitment to teamwork and proactive problem-solving is essential. This role requires fluency in English and a working knowledge of Zulu.

Qualifications

• Qualified Fitter with a minimum N4 Mechanical certificate.
• Completed apprenticeship with a trade test certificate is essential.
• A minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a production environment.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Planned maintenance throughout the manufacturing facility
• Breakdown maintenance on a roster basis
• Turning and milling when required within the workshop
• Maintaining and adhering to all safety, housekeeping and 20 Keys standards
• Submit BBS and suggestions

Qualifications

• Qualified Fitter with a minimum N4 Mechanical certificate
• Millwright advantage
• Completed apprenticeship with a trade test certificate is essential
• Willingness to work overtime and standby
• Able to converse fluently in English and have a working knowledge of Zulu
• A minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a production environment
• Must have experience in an Animal Feed Manufacturing Plant
• Be a proactive team player whilst able to use own initiative
• Be prepared to carry out Standby Duties on a roster basis
• Be safety conscious at all times
• Always maintain a high standard of housekeeping
• Must have own cell phone and reliable transport
