Qualifications

• Matric qualifications required.

• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of production machinery.
• Ability to read instructions, follow procedures, and work under pressure.
• Physically fit; able to lift, load, and handle materials safely.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends if required.
• Experience operating presses, rewinders, or similar machinery.
• Exposure to MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) environments.
• Basic mechanical tools knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Operate presses, rewinders, and other production equipment in accordance with SOPs; perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and safety checks before and during operation; monitor machine performance and report abnormalities to supervisor or fitter; ensure proper changeover procedures when switching moulds or product specifications.
• Maintenance Support: Assist the qualified fitter with repairs, maintenance, and mechanical tasks; prepare and hand over tools, parts, and equipment needed during maintenance work; support breakdown recovery by safely handling components and following instructions; maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the maintenance and machine areas.
• Material Handling: Load raw materials (e.g., aluminium foil rolls) onto presses, rewinders, and other machinery; safely transport materials, pallets, and tooling using a forklift (valid license required); assist with inventory counts of materials, tools, and spare parts; ensure all materials are stored safely and in designated locations.
• Production & Quality: Follow production plans and meet daily output targets; conduct basic visual quality checks on products and materials; report any defects, deviations, or equipment issues immediately.
• Safety & Compliance: Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations; use PPE and follow machine lockout/tag‑out procedures when required; maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times; understand and follow company policies and standard operating procedures.
