Job summary

Fidelity Services Group in the Western Cape seeks a Junior Firefighter to join our fire response team. You will participate in firefighting, emergency rescue, basic medical care, fire prevention and equipment maintenance under supervision.

Responsibilities include responding to fires and rescues, operating firefighting equipment, training, health and safety inspections, and documenting daily occurrences. A Grade 12 qualification and relevant certifications are required, with Hazmat knowledge and

Qualifications

• Grade 12 as a minimum school qualification.
• IFSAC Accredited and NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2 certification.
• Firefighter II Certification and related training with 2–3 years’ experience.
• Code C1 driver license with PrDP; advanced driving experience is a plus.
• Medically and physically fit with good fire prevention knowledge.
• Hazmat experience and knowledge essential; EMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, rescues, and related emergency incidents under supervision.
• Operate firefighting equipment and extinguish fires.
• Provide basic medical care and emergency rescue support.
• Participate in training drills and safety inspections.
• Maintain equipment and complete shift log documentation.
• Conduct health and safety checks and ensure PPE compliance.
