It is important to understand the concept of Rational Design (not only as a tick box exercise, but in depth understanding).
Design and install HVAC and fire suppression and detection systems in various industriesSmoke control design (Fire growth and size, Heat Release Rate, smoke generation and smoke fill rate calculations) coupled with ASET and RSET evaluations.
BSc (Eng) / BEng / BTech in Mechanical / Civil or relevant Engineering degreeECSA registered as Candidate or Professional (PrEng) Engineer or Pr Tech Eng (Technologist)3-6+ years of experience with the below : HVAC design and Fire plan preparation and submission Sprinkler system design and implementation, Sprinkler hydraulics knowledge preferredKnowledge of international sprinkler codes such as NFPA & FM Global will be advantageous.Performance based engineering (hands on experience with the actual engineering side of things) essentialWell-versed with engineering design software.
Knowledge of Rational Design highly recommended.The client may request to see evidence of hydraulic designs (pump and tank sizing) as well as smoke control design (Fire growth and size, Heat Release Rate, smoke generation and smoke fill rate calculations) coupled with ASET and RSET evaluations.Mining industry experience recommended but not essentialOwn transport, valid driver's license and willingness to travel to clients when requiredMedically fit and willing to work on mining and construction sites
