Job summary

BDO South Africa in Illovo, Johannesburg, seeks a 2027 First-Year SAICA Trainee Accountant for its Financial Services division. This three-year training contract provides targeted industry exposure across banking, insurance, asset management, stockbroking and funds, preparing you to write the APC and register as a CA(SA).

You'll gain hands-on audit experience under senior guidance, complete SAICA logbook milestones and CPD modules, and develop technical accounting skills in a dynamic FS

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) / CTA / Honours or SAICA-accredited qualification.
• Strong technical accounting and auditing foundation with interest in financial services.
• High attention to detail and robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute specialized audit procedures and financial verification under senior guidance.
• Evaluate financial instruments, regulatory frameworks, and internal controls in financial institutions.
• Build relationships with client management and audit partners while upholding ethical standards.
• Fulfill SAICA logbook milestones, CPD modules, and professional exams.
