Financial Sector Cyber Threat Analyst

Location: Pretoria Gauteng.

Position Overview

There is an exciting vacancy available for a Financial Sector Cyber Threat Analyst at a leading financial services group within their Group Security Management Department.

Duties & Responsibilities

The main purpose of this position is to facilitate and support sharing and integration of industry cyber threat intelligence as well as to conduct research analysis and reporting on cyber threats within the financial sector.

Key Performance Areas
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of joint financial sector cyber threat intelligence sharing mechanisms.
  • Collate analyse and process cyber threat information received from all sector stakeholders.
  • Maintain an accurate national financial sector cyber threat landscape.
  • Define and maintain sector information requirements to align production processes and research objectives with client requirements.
  • Define innovate and apply appropriate analytical techniques methodologies and technologies.
  • Define a client centric production programme and produce regular and specialised reports.
Desired Experience & Qualification

To be considered for this position one must have:

  • A completed Bachelors degree (NQF7) in Cybersecurity Risk Management Security Risk Management or related equivalent qualification essential.
  • A Postgraduate qualification in a related field added advantage.
  • A Cyber Security or cyber related qualification or certifications e.g. a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Certification.
  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in Intelligence and / or Cybersecurity Threat Analysis in a Financial / Banking Environment with a strong liaison and coordination track record.
  • Specialised training in Intelligence Analysis and / or Risk Analysis.
  • Financial sector exposure broad Information System knowledge and Sector Architecture knowledge.
