Job summary

Snatch | Accounting & Finance Headhunters is seeking a Financial Manager based in Paarl to lead the finance and administration function as the business grows. You will own financial control, month-end reporting and provide commercial insight, leading a small team and potentially expanding into broader operational leadership.

Reporting to the business owner, you will strengthen reporting, drive decision-making, and ensure robust financial controls in a stock-heavy dealership environment with VAT

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in accounting/finance required
• SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA designation strongly preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of financial management experience
• Stock-intensive environment experience essential
• Motor dealership experience and familiarity with dealership systems preferred
• Advanced Excel and AI-enabled reporting/dashboard experience
• Strong VAT and SA tax compliance knowledge
• Experience leading a small team and producing commercial reports for leadership

Responsibilities

• Own full month-end close including trial balance, reconciliations and management reports.
• Prepare budgets, actual vs budget, variance commentary and dashboards.
• Process and review journals, accruals, provisions, fixed assets and payroll Instructions.
• Oversee stock, debtors, creditors, cash reconciliations and banking admin.
• Manage motor dealer reconciliations, incentives, warranty and manufacturer reporting deadlines.
• Prepare VAT submissions, support audits and liaise with advisers and maintain controls.

Shape finance for a growing premium motor dealership

Role Overview

A well-established premium motor dealership is seeking a Financial Manager to be based in Paarl to lead its finance and administration function as the business grows.

Reporting directly to the business owner, you will take ownership of financial control, month-end reporting and commercial insight across the dealership. You will lead a small team, strengthen reporting and decision-making, and have scope to grow into broader operational leadership over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full month-end close, including trial balance review, reconciliations and management reporting across all operating departments.
• Prepare budgets, actual-versus-budget reporting, variance commentary and dashboards that turn financial data into clear commercial insight.
• Process and review journals, accruals, provisions, fixed assets, depreciation and payroll instructions.
• Oversee stock, debtors, creditors, daily cash reconciliations and banking administration.
• Manage finance and insurance reconciliations, dealer incentives, warranty and service-plan claims, and manufacturer reporting deadlines.
• Prepare VAT submissions, support audits, liaise with professional advisers and maintain effective financial controls.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum BCom degree in Accounting or Finance, with registered SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA designation strongly preferred.
• Strong experience-led profile, with minimum 5+ years of relevant financial management experience.
• Must have hands-on experience in a stock-intensive environment
• Motor dealership experience and working knowledge of dealership management systems, stock funding, finance and insurance, and manufacturer claims processes preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and practical experience using AI-enabled reporting or dashboards.
• Strong VAT knowledge and working familiarity with South African tax compliance requirements.
• Proven experience leading a small team and producing commercial reporting for an owner or senior leadership team.

Salary & Benefits

• R840,000 – R1 080,000 CTC per year depending on experience
