Job summary

A leading agricultural firm in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Financial Manager. The successful candidate will manage the local Financial Department and oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with IFRS. Candidates should have a CA or CIMA qualification and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.

Job description
Minimum requirements for the role :
  • Must be a Qualified CA or CIMA ideally or similar
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Financial Manager or Financial Controller in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have previous experience in preparing management accounts, compiling financial reports, dealing with tax and statutory returns
  • Experience in managing a Financial Department is essential
  • Must have experience working according to IFRS
  • Internal audit experience, preferably familiar with Sox requirements
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in costing (preferably gained in a manufacturing environment)
  • Must have a valid driver's license
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
  • Managing the local Financial Department personnel.
  • Being responsible for financial reporting local and international.
  • Preparing and managing the year-end audit packs according to IFRS requirements and liaising with auditors.
  • Completing tax and statutory returns.
  • Performing the company secretarial function.
  • Conducting internal audits and ensuring compliance with SOX.
  • Managing the credit control function.
  • Managing the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Investigating and commenting on variances against budget or forecast and liaising with management in this regard.
  • Managing capital expenditure and maintaining the asset registers.
  • Consulting with customers and distributors as required.
  • Compiling and managing adherence to financial policies and procedures.
