Overview
Financial Manager required for our OEM manufacturing facility in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. Reports to the Financial Executive. The ideal candidate is a CA(SA) with a passion for finance, operational excellence, and a strong understanding of the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the finance department, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting functions.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and reporting to local and global stakeholders.
- Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure financial integrity and compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure planning.
- Partner with manufacturing and operational teams to drive cost control, efficiency, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including SARS, VAT, and other tax obligations.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee stock management and conduct regular stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy and control.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Participate in strategic business planning and risk management initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Chartered Accountant [CA(SA)] designation (non-negotiable).
- Minimum of 5 years post-articles experience in a financial management role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, cost accounting, and financial systems.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Syspro) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive financial accountability across the business.
