A manufacturing company in Gauteng is seeking an Experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial transactions and administrative functions. The successful candidate will oversee bookkeeping, prepare financial reports, and support the finance team. A Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and a minimum of 10 years' experience in the manufacturing sector are required. Competitive compensation and growth opportunities are included.
We are seeking an Experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in the manufacturing industry to assist in managing our finance and administrative functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, and supporting the administrative department, which consists of a bookkeeper, debtors clerk, creditors clerk, and two wage clerks.
Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger.
Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements).
Oversee and support the debtors clerk, creditors clerk, and two wage clerks in managing payroll and accounts processing.
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of wages and salaries.
Assist in preparing payment schedules and ensuring creditor and debtor payments are aligned with cash flow.
Provide leadership and guidance to the finance / admin team.
Ensure smooth operations of the administrative department.
Collaborate with management to enhance business workflow and system integration.
Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial statements, and comprehensive reports to senior management.
Develop, maintain, and oversee budget forecasts, cash flow statements, profitability analyses, and cost control centers.
Support the transition from Pastel Partners to a more integrated financial management system.
Assist in implementing cost centers within each department for better financial tracking.
Improve financial processes and administrative efficiencies.
Work with department heads to monitor expenses and implement cost control measures.
Assist in budget preparation and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
Help track costs associated with manufacturing operations and suggest efficiency improvements.
Assist in establishing financial and monthly management reporting processes to enable real-time tracking of business performance.
Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CA qualification not essential.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in financial management within the manufacturing sector.
Software Proficiency: Advanced experience with financial systems and software; familiarity with Pastel Partners is beneficial.
Business Intelligence: Experience with live reporting software systems.
