Job description
Financial Manager Reference: CAW

Location: Johannesburg North, Gauteng

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Managing a team and overseeing all functions for the team
  • Acting as a Bank Signatory, including releasing EFT payments and updating creditor banking details
  • Authorizing journals
  • Managing the Point of Sale (POS) system, including releasing purchase orders
  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and conducting income statement analysis
  • Reviewing monthly statistical reporting and Group charges, including Group VAT submissions
  • Preparing Quarterly Statistical Reports for STATS SA
  • Handling year-end audits and budgets for Support Services, including preparation and consolidation of accounts, assistance with Group Consolidation, and preparation of annual financial statements for Dormant companies
  • Preparing flash reports, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and forecasts
  • Assisting departmental management with queries and budgets
  • Managing monthly group support services fringe benefit company car schedules for payroll, including deduction schedules
  • Conducting monthly budget vs actual variance analysis
  • Ensuring control procedures are in place and operating effectively
  • Handling ad hoc Group management accounting tasks
Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a similar capacity
