Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial reports.
- Coordinate and submit annual budgets to the Holding Company.
- Conduct variance analysis on monthly management accounts.
- Manage day-to-day financial matters, including:
- Assisting in managing the debtors' book.
- Controlling and reconciling monthly and annual rebates with all suppliers.
- Reconciliation of rebates due to the General Ledger account.
- Ensuring back-end supplier support, discounts, and rebates are received as per agreements.
- Monitoring supplier spend in relation to rebates based on set targets.
- Managing monthly accruals and creditors.
- Maintaining and reconciling the General Ledger as required for reporting.
- Handle VAT and income tax calculations, reconciliations, and submissions to reporting accountants.
- Ensure compliance with government-required statistics and assist with year-end audits.
- Reconcile inventory and analyze inventory aging to reduce holding periods.
- Manage bookkeeping staff and recommend financial actions by identifying risks and areas for improvement.
- Substantiate financial transactions through sound analysis.
- Maintain internal controls by developing policies and procedures.
- Guide and coordinate activities of accounting clerical staff.
