Job description

Financial Manager / Controller (Hospitality)

Location: Northern Suburbs, Cape Town (Office-Based)
Salary: R70, per month / R, per annum (Negotiable + Benefits, based on experience)

We are seeking a CA(SA)/Finance Manager /Controller to play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of the company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, budgeting, and forecasting, and driving financial process improvements. You will also provide analysis and business insights to support senior management in decision-making.

Minimum Requirements
  • CA(SA) qualification with at least 3 years' post‑article experience (essential – must be submitted with CV).
  • Proven experience managing financials for subsidiaries.
  • Minimum of 3 years' leadership experience, managing a small team (3–4 people).
  • Hands‑on payroll management experience.
  • Ambitious, driven, and able to bring fresh ideas with a strong focus on efficiency and cost‑saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports and management accounts for subsidiaries.
  • Assist with annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance, investigate variances, and provide commentary.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure accurate accounting records.
  • Support year‑end audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, income tax).
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Ensure strong internal financial controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Provide financial insights to support operational teams.
  • Supervise and develop junior finance staff.
