Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and implement the companys financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
- Advise the MD and executive team on financial planning, capital structure, and profitability.
- Participate in strategic decision-making, including business expansion, investment, and cost management initiatives.
2. Financial Management and Reporting
- Oversee preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, monitoring performance against set targets.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
3. Operational Finance
- Supervise day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable,, and reconciliations.
- Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Streamline processes and implement financial systems to improve efficiency and transparency.
3>4. Risk and Compliance
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, tax, and audit requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.
5. Business Partnering
- Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making across departments.
- Collaborate with department heads to monitor budgets and performance.
- Support business cases, pricing models, and cost-benefit analyses for new projects or initiatives.
6. Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead the finance team to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), CIMA (Strategic level) , or equivalent professional qualification (essential).
- Minimum of 810 years experience in finance, with at least 3 years at a senior management level.
- Proven experience in financial planning, reporting, and management within an SME or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Business Central, Xero, Sage, SAP etc.), Power BI and MS Excel (Advanced).
