About KHOLD: KHOLD is more than a logistics company - it's the backbone behind a major share of South Africa's fresh produce export story.

As the country's largest specialised cold chain and fresh produce logistics operator, we connect growers, exporters, shipping lines, and customers around the world.

Our operations combine state-of-the-art cold storage with smart digital transport platforms to ensure fast, reliable, and efficient movement of temperature-sensitive cargo.

The business is made up of four operating entities, each with its own finance team, supported by a Group finance function that brings everything together, driving strategy, governance, and sustainable growth.

Role Overview

We're seeking a strategic, hands‑on Financial Director to lead KHOLD Group finance across four businesses.

More than a numbers role, this position is about partnership, insight, and impact – helping shape strategy, drive performance, and support growth.

You will oversee a team of 20 (including 4 Finance Managers) and work closely with leadership, operations, HR, and commercial teams to ensure financial clarity, agility, and sound decision‑making in a fast‑moving environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to guide strategic decisions.
  • Ensure strong financial control, reporting accuracy, and smooth audits.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
  • Partner with commercial and operations teams to support customer and business value.
  • Maintain robust risk management and insurance frameworks.
  • Drive finance systems integration and process improvements.
  • Contribute to special projects (e.g. expansions, funding, M&A).
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a confident, credible finance leader who blends strategic insight with operational savvy.

You bring deep technical expertise, a sharp commercial mindset, and a genuine desire to contribute to a values‑driven business that is growing and evolving.

What You Bring
  • CA(SA) with 10+ years' finance experience (5+ at senior level) essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen and operational understanding.
  • Proven track record in cash flow, reporting, and audit management.
  • Excellent communication, relational and leadership skills.
  • Logistics or supply chain experience advantageous.
Our Values
  • CARE: for people, customers, facilities, and the environment.
  • CONNECT: build real, lasting relationships.
  • INNOVATE: find smarter ways to work.
  • EXCEL: keep raising the bar.

We're looking for someone who lives these values every day – a leader who leads with integrity, curiosity, and a bit of grit.

Why KHOLD?

Joining KHOLD means becoming part of a business with a national footprint, a global impact, and a people‑first culture.

You’ll have the platform to shape a finance function that doesn't just report on performance but helps create it.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit a comprehensive CV and cover letter detailing their alignment with KHOLD’s mission and the requirements of this role. The closing date for applications is Friday, 14 November.
