A leading educational institution is seeking a Financial Controller to build and manage its financial infrastructure. The role involves overseeing month-end closings, consolidations, and audit preparations, requiring 5-10 years of experience in financial control or accounting. Candidates should have strong technical knowledge of IFRS or GAAP and ability to enhance financial systems. Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential. This is a full-time, on-site position in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years' experience in accounting, financial control, or audit.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS or GAAP.
• Proven experience in month-end closing, consolidations, and audit preparation.
• Experience building or improving financial systems and reporting structures.
• Fluency in English; French or Portuguese is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Oversee multi-entity consolidations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare management accounts, P&L, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements.
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
