JOB SUMMARY

A global logistics group operating across Africa and Europe with a specialisation in project cargo is seeking a Financial Controller to join their central services team based in Bryanston, Gauteng. The business has expanded rapidly since 2023, now comprising of 10 companies across 7 countries, with further growth planned. This role is pivotal in maintaining system accuracy, financial compliance, and structured reporting across the group.

This role will serve as a critical support function to ensure financial and operational discipline across borders.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

To be considered for this role, candidates must demonstrate:

  • A recognised qualification in Finance or Accounting
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar financial control role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite
  • Working knowledge of Business Central 365 is a significant advantage
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accurate reporting
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple time zones and cultures
  • Experience working with structured ERP or logistics platforms (e.g. Xsped) is beneficial
JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Verifying financial and operational inputs in the system (Xsped) and ensuring alignment with the internal Authorisation Matrix
  • Producing a monthly Financial Non‑Compliance Report
  • Monitoring project, shipment, sales offer, and invoice statuses daily
  • Validating VAT codes, FX rates, article codes, credit notes, and expense handling
  • Collaborating with global team members to correct errors or inconsistencies
  • Supporting resolution of operational system issues
  • Assisting in the onboarding of finance and operational staff across the group
  • Alerting management to any material financial changes or concerns
