Financial Controller – Magic Space Dust (Johannesburg, South Africa)

As we continue to expand, we're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our Johannesburg team and play a key role in shaping the company's financial success.

Role Overview

The Financial Controller will report directly to the Group Head of Finance and take responsibility for the financial management of a multi‑entity group operating across several jurisdictions and currencies. This is a hands‑on leadership role that combines technical accounting expertise with strategic financial insight. You'll ensure the company's financial systems, reporting, and planning processes are accurate, efficient, and aligned with our growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the finance function across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Lead cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, accounting standards, and compliance.
  • Oversee intercompany transactions and multi‑currency accounting.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other external partners.
Requirements
  • Chartered Accountant (SA)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management.
  • Proven experience managing multi‑entity finances across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience with multi‑currency accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability in cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
