PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Financial Services division is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level Financial Controller to join our team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and execute daily financial accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation
  • Oversee and process all incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring accuracy, security, and timely execution
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
  • Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of budgets and 3-year plans (including variance analysis)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support the preparation of regulatory reports and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments in the broader group to perform intercompany reconciliations and seamless financial operations
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
  • Ensure financial records comply with company policies and accounting principles
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • CA(SA)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a financial role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector
  • Proven experience with accounting software (preferably SAP) and financial management systems
  • Solid understanding of financial principles and accounting standards (IFRS)
  • An understanding of banking regulations will be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills
