Job description
Overview

Provide comprehensive financial and administrative support to the finance department through accurate bookkeeping, timely bank reconciliations, efficient creditors processing, and proactive mailbox and bank liaison management.


The Finance Assistant ensures the integrity of financial records, supports internal and external stakeholder communication, and contributes to the smooth running of daily finance operations across the group.


Key Responsibilities

Perform daily allocations and reconciliations on the cashbook across all company accounts.


Accurate allocation of Netcash transactions to customer ledgers after weekly debit order run.


Monthly invoicing of Marketing department clients and inter-company invoicing.


Run monthly statements, request and upload bank statements onto shared drive.


Process new company fleet cards and credit cards; prepare monthly fleet card usage report.


Liaise with the bank to resolve disputes or queries and with suppliers.


Capture supplier invoices, reconcile accounts, prepare monthly creditor reconciliation and payment schedule.


Load creditor payments onto the bank and review creditor packs.


Manage shared finance mailbox, distribute to relevant departments.


Perform other ad-hoc finance administration tasks as required.


Required Qualifications & Experience

Matric (Grade 12) mandatory.


Finance-related certificate or diploma (Bookkeeping, Accounting).


1+ years of experience in a similar finance or administrative role.


Experience with accounting software, Sage Evolution.


Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.


Strong attention to detail and accuracy.


Good organizational and time-management skills.


Effective communication skills (written and verbal).


Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.


Professional, reliable, confidential approach.


Team player with proactive mindset.
