The finance function is a true strategic partner - modern, data-savvy, and central to decision-making. As the Finance Accountant (Reporting & Compliance), you'll be at the centre of it all, preparing financial statements, supporting audits, tightening controls, and elevating reporting standards across the group.

You'll work closely with senior leadership and have direct visibility across multiple jurisdictions. This isn't just about compliance - it's about crafting credibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly trial balances and management reports for multiple entities.
  • Lead the preparation of annual financial statements (AFS) including consolidation and audit support.
  • Conduct financial and variance analysis, adding depth to management insights.
  • Manage bonding and guarantees across the group.
  • Ensure VAT accuracy, compliance, and timely submissions.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and catch issues before they become problems.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and align with operational teams.
  • Approve critical finance documents from credit applications to payment releases.
  • Support the setup of new entities, systems, controls and policy alignment.
  • Mentor junior team members and drive continuous improvement in reporting quality.
Job Experience & Skills Required
  • Qualification: BCom Accounting (related).
  • Experience: 5+ years in financial reporting or technical accounting.
  • Leadership: Post-articles or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Technical: Advanced Excel; ERP / BuildSmart advantageous.
  • Exposure: Multi-entity or cross-border experience across Africa a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Sharp communicator, meticulous organiser, and calm under deadline pressure.
  • Language: Portuguese beneficial, but not essential.
