Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring technical accounting expertise, a solid understanding of financial operations within the financial services sector, and the ability to manage reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies. This role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, technology, and cross-border payments, supporting strategic financial decisions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data in a fast-moving environment.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Honours or Professional Qualification advantageous).
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within fintech, payments, banking, or financial services.
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and exposure to ERP/accounting systems (Xero preferred)
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
  • Experience supporting external audits and regulatory compliance processes.

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across all cost centres, ensuring data integrity.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Assist in the consolidation and reporting for group entities (local and international).
Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Oversee supplier payments, expense management, and client billing cycles.
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring compliance with internal controls and tax regulations.
  • Manage intercompany recharges and maintain invoice and recharge schedules.
Cash, Banking & Treasury
  • Perform bank reconciliations across multiple currencies and accounts.
  • Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and FX exposure tracking.
  • Collaborate with trading and operations teams to reconcile settlement flows and payment gateways.
Audit, Compliance & Tax
  • Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and internal governance policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation to support financial audits and regulatory reviews.
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting and reporting processes.
  • Support system upgrades, integrations, and testing of financial or ERP systems.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial processes.
