Job summary

A leading organization in the steel industry in Johannesburg is seeking a driven Financial Accountant. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, conduct performance analysis, and assist in budgeting and forecasting. Qualified candidates should hold a CA(SA) and have a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing sector. Experience with SAP is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ post article relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience preferably within manufacturing, steel, or industrial sectors.
  • Candidates writing APC in December 2025 may be considered.

  • Prepare and review management and financial reports.
  • Compile annual financial statements.

An exciting opportunity exists on the East Rand for a driven Financial Accountant to join a leading organization within the steel and manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and insightfulness of financial reporting while contributing to performance analysis and strategic decision-making.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial activities — from statutory accounting and compliance to financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. This position offers exposure to both operational and strategic finance, making it ideal for an ambitious individual who enjoys combining technical accounting with business analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review management and financial reports to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Compile annual financial statements in line with accounting standards
  • Conduct financial and performance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes to guide business decisions
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow reports and assist in working capital management
  • Ensure tax compliance, maintain internal controls, and oversee fixed asset accounting
  • Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure sound financial governance
Qualifications & Experience
  • CA(SA) essential / Could consider applicants writing APC in December 2025
  • Minimum 3 years’ post article relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within manufacturing, steel, or industrial sectors.
  • SAP experience essential
