A financial services firm in Gauteng seeks a Financial Accountant to manage key financial operations. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's in Accounting and have 2-3 years' experience. Responsibilities include reconciling accounts, payroll processing, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role offers a salary of approximately R35k – R39k, along with medical insurance and pension contributions. Two days of remote work are available post-training.
Basic salary + / - R35k – R39k depending on experience and qualifications (Accounting degree is a must).
Company contributions – 66% medical insurance, pension fund with Momentum and group cover (see attached). 2 days remote working a week (only once the person is fully trained and capable in the role).

Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts encompassing various currencies. Ensure compliance of withholding tax regulations across Africa.
Preparation and Processing of monthly payroll, accrual, and provision journals for the African branches. Ensure timely submission of reports to Corporate in accordance with deadlines. Timely and accurate completion of mandatory statutory returns. Achieve satisfactory results during internal and external audits and report findings as necessary. Identify and report any discrepancies or variances as they arise. Offer prompt support for banking administration tasks required across the African region. Perform Accounts payable reconciliations and ensure the timely submission of invoices to the GES team, while maintaining accuracy in invoice capturing and processing. Successfully complete pricing tasks as assigned. Support and enhance various critical aspects of financial operations. Efficiently process monthly journals. Facilitate reporting through the One Stream system. Provide insightful analysis of sensitive accounts. Prepare General Ledger reconciliations to maintain financial record integrity. Offer flexible support to the Senior Finance Accountant and Finance Manager as needed.
Handle general banking administration tasks when required.
A Bachelor's degree in accounting or management accounting is a prerequisite with at least 2 – 3 years working experience in an accounting role. Familiarity with fundamental business and strong accounting principles and practices are expected. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with a particular emphasis on advanced Excel skills, is essential.
